Job Description:
The Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences at Westfield State University seeks a full-time chemistry faculty member for a tenure track position starting September 1, 2016. Applicants are expected to teach introductory and organic chemistry lectures and/or associated labs. The University has broken ground on a new science lab building housing modern ADA-compliant chemical teaching and research laboratory space scheduled to open September 2016 to support growing STEM programs. The candidate is expected to support the Chemistry major by advising students, mentoring undergraduate research and/or teaching upper-level courses in his/her area of scientific expertise.

Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related discipline and demonstrated expertise in organic chemistry. ABDs will also be considered if there is strong evidence that the doctorate degree will be completed by the appointment date. Westfield State University is a teaching institution with a 4/4 teaching load and the successful candidate must provide evidence of outstanding teaching ability or potential.
